290 Turbo diesel G klasse engine ready to install!

290 GD turbo engine with conventional mechanical diesel pump. Only suitable for G class with mechanical gearbox ; no automatic.
It says on the engine block in the cast, from the factory, that it is an original turbo engine ( OM662 920 )
and not a non-turbo converted engine, as this is a junk !
This engine has undergone a major inspection, all necessary parts have been replaced,
including all seals and sensitive mechanical parts.
Injectors renewed, incl burner plates , seals on fuel pump, glow plugs replaced,
KETTING replaced, water pump replaced, water circuit in (internally) completely chemically cleaned,
ALL seals in contact with coolant, new water pump, chauffage pipes incl seals,
Crankshaft removed, engine bearings viewed, crankshaft bearings and possibly balanced
Fully modified, with a heavier oil pump for a G-class, correct crankcase, etc....
Basic parts for fitting an intercooler are included. A used intercooler is included in the price.
No ready-made pipes for this
Using an intercooler is 100% necessary !!!

If you return your old engine from a 250 GD or 290 GD there is a discount of € 1500, so TOTAL PRICE € 5900
You will need to transfer the clutch (ambriage) , flywheel, starter and alternator from your current 250 / 290 GD engine.
The price of the installation ranges from 2,500 to > ++++ euros, depending on the condition of your exhaust pipe; clutch , radiator (!!!) and all other pipes and rubbers in the car, after dismantling your old engine. The installation does not require any welding on the car's chassis.
Only the exhaust needs to be modified, as well as a small modification o.a. to the mounting bracket between the calendar and the radiator, etc.
A non-turbo engine has a thinner diameter exhaust pipe than a turbo engine.
With this, you can do 2 things.
You weld onto the thinner original pipe the thicker beginning of the turbo exhaust pipe. This is the cheapest, but realise that this way you take some restriction and thus power away from the turbo engine, and you will have damage to your turbo in the long run, because the exhaust gases are always pushed back a bit because of the thinner exhaust pipe. Either have a custom-made exhaust pipe with full-length silencer made. Having this made perfectly costs +- 2500 € depending on FE or stainless steel. You can also craft an exhaust yourself, of course, which is much cheaper. I cannot do this for you.
The radiator must be in perfect condition and free of internal contamination, because these engines tend to overheat.
Turbo engines have a very high water temperature, much higher than a non-turbo engine!
I can also supply you with the option of a more powerful water cooling system with pump is a modification of 450 euros.
You need to reuse your current oil cooler radiator from your 250/290GD engine.
If you want a custom-made larger radiator, I can also help you with this.
If you assemble the engine yourself, which is my preference, I will have the engine running when you come by my place, on test stand, with radiator connected etc.
That way you can see that you are really buying a good engine!
